7th ANNUAL VINTAGE ROUND-UP
WEST YELLOWSTONE, MONTANA
MARCH 13TH, 2010
Well folks all I can say is Wow! Unbelievable! Thank you so very much!!
Thanks
to each and every one of you for making this year’s West Yellowstone Vintage
Snowmobile Round-up
another overwhelming success!!! We began our weekend with an outstanding Friday
messing around while
getting the old iron out and running at our parking area. And then throw in a
great meet and greet, and it just got
better from there! Each
year the participants in this exciting event never cease to amaze everyone as
they assemble
some of the most
incredibly beautiful antique and vintage snowmobiles on the planet. And
this year was no exception!!!
From the unbelievable
Arctic Cat Twin Tracker sitting center stage to the ultra rare Honda White Fox,
this show delivered!
Delivered 70 sleds from 7 states! Wow! Although everyone involved deserves special recognition for their
efforts,
unfortunately only a few can be recognized with
a class award. Congratulations too you all!
Each
and every time we have been in West Yellowstone for our annual gathering, we
have worked with the local
chapter of
Big Brothers and Big Sisters helping to raise funds for their program. Over the
years their director
Alysia Downs,
has become one of our strongest advocates and with the help of her and the kids;
we gathered
almost 1,200 votes
for the class awards at this year’s show! We probably could’ve cast more but we
ran out of ballots!
These kids were awesome! And here’s why: As folks entered the show they would
pleasantly greet them and ask for
their vote.
The kids would politely give out a small pencil with a ballot and in many cases,
collect the ballots. With Alysia’s
guidance,
we enjoyed helping some of the little ones ramp up their courage in approaching
a total stranger and asking for
their participation.
It was truly a pleasure to witness these kids experience a huge step
forward in their development of
social skills such as this!
Thank you Alysia! And thank you kids!!
The Big Winners at this year’s show were a couple of sophomore participants.
Best of show was awarded to Larry Grooms with his fabulous ‘’71 440 Rupp Magnum W/T
And People’s Choice went to Clayton and Joyce Busch with their beautiful 1960 Polaris Sno- Traveler
Nice sleds guys!
Big winners in the raffles were:
The Dyess Family (Pinedale, WY) won the sweet little 1973 Colt 295
Paul Tate ( Roy, UT) won the framed Polaris 50th Anniversary Poster
and Cindy Smith (Bend, OR) won the 10x10 E-Z up!
Countless others won a host of prizes at our Saturday banquet so we hope
everyone took home something
special from
the show! Our proceeds totaled just over $2,000!! At our Sunday breakfast
meeting we decided to double
our last year’s donation
of $500 to Big Brother and Big Sisters and have already sent a check for
$1,000 to help the kids
with rest of
this year’s expenses.
Unbelievable!! We can’t express how privileged we all feel by creating something
this great
from a simple hobby from which we all
share such great passion. Thank you again too you all for your help with this
very special
mission and, congratulations to all the
weekend’s participants. In our eyes everyone involved is considered a true
champion of the
sport!!! We’ll be looking forward to
seeing you at the 2011 Vintage Round-up which without question, will be better
than ever!!
Sincerely,
Perry Hesteness
